Formatting Toolbar

Standard Toolbar: When you click on a toolbar item the following will happen:

  1. Opens new blank document
  2. Brings up an “OPEN” dialogue window to select a file to open
  3. Saves an existing file
  4. Prints document
  5. Shows preview of what document will look like when printed
  6. Check spelling and Grammar
  7. Cuts highlighted portion of document
  8. Copies highlighted portion of document
  9. Pastes copied information wherever flashing cursor is placed
  10. Undo previous actions
  11. Redo previous actions
  12. Draw table
  13. Use columns
  14. Adjust page size on screen by clicking on side down arrow and picking a percentage

Formatting Toolbar: When you click on a toolbar item the following will happen:

  1. Set body text, headings, etc.
  2. Set font by clicking on down arrow and choosing a style
  3. Set font size by clicking on down arrow and choosing a size
  4. Bold text before typing or after highlighting
  5. Italicize text before typing or after highlighting
  6. Underline text before typing or after highlighting
  7. Type begins at left side of page
  8. Type appears in centre of page
  9. Type begins at right side of page
  10. Numbered list
  11. Bulleted list
  12. Add border
  13. Highlight portions of text before or after typing—click on down arrow to choose colour
  14. Change text colour before or after typing—click on down arrow to choose
