Highlighting
Method #1
- Place I-beam at beginning or end of text to be highlighted
- Hold mouse button down and drag in opposite direction.
- Release mouse button.
Method #2
- Put slanted arrow (toward right) at beginning of line and click to highlight whole line of text.
- If you continue to drag the mouse down, with arrow pointing toward text, it will highlight
each successive line until you let go of mouse.
Quick Tips
- To highlight one word: double click within word..
- To highlight a sentence: hold ctrl and click within sentence.
- To highlight paragraph: put cursor at beginning of paragraph, then hold ctrl and shift together, and use the down arrow (to un-highlight use ctrl/shift and the up arrow).
- To highlight line by line: put cursor at beginning of first line you want to highlight, then hold shift and use the down arrow.
To highlight entire document: hold ctrl and hit"a" on your keyboard or go to the Edit > Select All.
Caution:
When whole document is highlighted DON'T HIT ANY KEY ON YOUR KEYBOARD or IT WILL DISAPPEAR. If you do this, you have to go to Edit > Undo to bring it back (or use the undo icon on the WORD toolbar).
